Valentine’s Day at The Lobster Pot in The Galway Bay Hotel

The OH treated me to a lovely night out in The Galway Bay Hotel for Valentine’s Day. They had a deal on for the evening where there was a four course meal with complimentary chocolate strawberries and champagne.

The menu had lovey dovey names for each meal which was cute and was presented in a scroll wrapped in a red ribbon.

To start I ordered lobster salad which came with watermelon and pistachios. Would never have thought to put pistachios in a salad and they worked really well so I’ll definitely be trying those in future! The OH got the duck terrine.

For the main course I ordered prawn tagliatelle in a lemongrass sauce which was divine. The dish was so fragrant and the prawns were big and succulent. The OH ordered the pork canon which was really delicious.

To end we got the creme brûlée and the chocolate brownie. The creme brûlée was lovely and smooth and had a nice crispy sugar topping and the brownie was lovely and rich. The chocolate strawberries were a nice added touch.

The food was superb and we’d definitely go back but since it is fine dining it’ll be reserved for special occasions. I’d like to try the afternoon tea there sometime. Going through a bit of an afternoon tea phase at the moment!

    1. Thanks for commenting! I thought it was a nice touch to change the names to suit the Valentine’s Day theme. I love watermelon, never would have thought to serve it with lobster either! I’m thinking it would possibly work well with prawns too. Thank you so much for the link! I’ll check it out.
