Interrailing Day 8

Interrailing Day 8: Another glorious day in Stockholm. A pleasant 10 degrees Celsius out. Got the guided tour of the City Hall. Found out you can get married there even if you’re not Swedish. There’s a tempting idea..! You can choose between a speedy 30 second ceremony or a slightly longer 3 min ceremony ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ’๐ŸŽŠ The tour was approx. 45 minutes long and started exactly on time (of course!). โฑEnjoyed the tour and the rooms and banquet hall was worth the visit. The tower is closed at the moment which was a pity. ๐Ÿ—
For the afternoon we headed to the Vasa Museum where we spent close to 3 hours admiring the magnificent ship that is Vasa โš“๏ธโ›ต๏ธ Had a 25 min tour of Vasa and watched the short film ๐ŸŽฅ The Museum also has an audio guide which you can load on your phone and follow the map to hear more information about Vasa. A pretty nifty idea. No need for renting headsets ๐ŸŽง The detail is unbelievable and it only took <2 years to build & was completed in 1628. Mind blowing. The modern 1:10 scale model took 3 years! I was really impressed with Vasa and highly recommend it as a must-see.
Couldn’t come to Sweden and not visit the epic Ikea – my favourite home store. ๐Ÿก Caught the free shuttle bus which brings you right to the door. ๐ŸšŒ It decided to rain hailstones once we got there. The Ikea we visited is the largest in Europe. We got a cheap and cheerful dinner and had a quick browse. So much home dรฉcor ideas! ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ’ธ
